For the penultimate week of the Knowledge Quest, we’re diving even deeper into KCWorks! Some of you uploaded items to the repository as part of the last challenge, so this week’s challenge is going to make you explore KCWorks more in depth. KCWorks is our library-grade repository that allows our users to upload their works, receive a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), and share their research widely. There are TONS of amazing features at your fingertips (versioning, multiple files per upload, etc.), and you can read about them on our Help & Support pages.
To earn your badge, you need to find uploads in the repository that meet the following criteria and share the links on this discussion board. Remember, there are no wrong answers! Ideally, the uploads you select are not published by you, but we won’t be too picky about that. 🙂
- Find an upload published this year
- Find an upload published in a collection
- Find an upload published by a member of the Knowledge Commons team (hint: if you’re not sure who we are, view our About site)
- Find an upload associated with a Commons group (hint: in KC, if you go to a group’s homepage, you can see whether “KCWorks” is listed in the group’s navigation menu)
- Wild card: find an upload you think is cool and want to share with all the Quest participants!
Share your responses in the Commons Room group by the end of the day on Sunday, September 6th. Due to the Labor Day holiday in the United States, we’ll be taking a break on Monday, September 7th. You’ll receive your badge and final quest on the 8th!
